Project Description

Boyle performed design-build services for a new Westfield Hospital ICU and Blood Laboratory within a previously unused hospital shell space, on the third floor. Westfield Hospital’s goal was to provide uninterruptible services within the Hospital. The project required Department of Health approvals.

The new ICU space featured three self-supported ICU rooms with toilet facilities, along with support services spaces—waiting and reception areas, administrative space, consultation areas, medicine preparation and nourishment centers, soil utility, clean storage and a staff lounge.

The Blood Laboratory was adjacent to the new ICU rooms, to take advantage of existing utilities.

[Note, in 2013, the Westfield Hospital closed and was purchased by Lehigh Valley Health Network.]
