Project Description

Boyle Construction managed construction of LCCC’s 48,000 square-foot state-of-the-art computer technologies facility. The technology center at LCCC provides students with high-tech computer labs for multiple degree paths.

Wired with over 300 data ports, the center is also home to “Connections,” a wireless internet café that allows students and faculty to conduct research in an informal atmosphere. The facility includes classrooms, workshops, A/V conferencing centers, commercial-quality studios, and a modern boardroom with wireless controls.

The two-story building is built of structural steel framing with metal stud exterior framing and brick veneer. The two-story glass lobby addresses the LCCC quad and campus mall.

Site work consisted of cutting out a hillside, allowing the building to rest partially below grade. Utilities, sidewalks, and landscaping were incorporated to tie the building into the existing campus infrastructure.
