Project Description

Lehigh County Authority (LCA) provides public water service to approximately 18,000 households and businesses in 13 townships in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. LCA also provides wastewater service, via a large regional system and other regions, through smaller-scale wastewater treatment plants.

The Authority purchased an adjacent property to its existing operations building to expand facilities, to better serve growing customer needs. Boyle provided construction management services to demolish an existing two-story building on the newly purchased property and construct a new 13,000 SF garage to house the Authority’s fleet vehicles. A connecting structure was placed between the new and existing building.

The existing 15,000 SF facility also received extensive renovations and a 3,500 SF addition for office and meeting space. LCA’s total square footage is approximately 33,000 SF for administration, customer service, capital works and operations.

The project came in under budget, which allowed LCA to invest in green initiatives, including upgrading to efficient HVAC and water systems.
