Safety Inspector

Position:
The Safety Inspector reports to the Director of Safety. The Safety Inspector will work to ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the public on each project by complying with OSHA, Company, and other construction industry safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include, but are not limited to the following):
- Ensure employees, subcontractors, owners, and any other persons on the jobsite are following established policies and safety regulations.
- Attend monthly safety meetings with internal safety committee.
- Conduct incident investigations and performs necessary reporting and communications.
- Inspection of safety equipment as required by manufacturers guidelines.
- Perform onsite safety inspections according to company specified guidelines.
- Educate and train employees on machinery, safety equipment, safety protocols, and personal protective equipment as needed.
- Ensure employees are issued the proper personal protective equipment to perform their duties.
- Effectively identify hazards on an active construction site and understand proper controls.
- Effectively document and report inspection findings to proper company representatives.
- Effectively track all inspection findings to closure/correction.
Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of one (1) year Safety Inspection experience
- OSHA 30 Certification (provided through Company)
- Strong organizations skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Office products a must; Procore and Hammertech experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, meeting all deadlines
Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position for approximately fifty (50%) percent of a workday.
- Ability to work in an environment which may include fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust, and ash.
- Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of 30-85 db.
- Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging, and scaffolding.
- Ability to lift or push up to one hundred (100) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance.
- Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch, and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
