Memorable Projects: Joe Wildman

Joe Wildman has been a fixture at Boyle Construction for over 20 years. Bringing his construction expertise to the team and expertly managing trade partners in the field on many large-scale complicated projects. Over the years he has worked on campuses for many Lehigh Valley clients from pharmaceutical and commercial offices to healthcare and higher education. When asked his most memorable project it was hard to narrow down. 

“Easton City Hall required a lot of detailed management because the timeframe was tight. We were also relying on other prime contractors to get everything done for their move-in date.” said Wildman

Boyle provided site work, development and general contractor services for the new 46,000 SF City Hall administrative office and meeting facility building with ground floor retail and restaurant amenities. The urban site offers a gateway to the city with newly improved adjacent properties. The bulk excavation, and creation of new underground utility infrastructure was challenging at the urban location ensuring all safety measures and traffic flow was in place throughout the process. 

“We created a daily schedule of activities to help manage everyone and we had a daily huddle with the other prime contractors to gain some efficiency on the construction schedule. Since it was a brownfield, we had to make way for the new infrastructure.“ Wildman said.

The newly constructed parking garage has a tie-in to City Hall including a LANTA transit center. Other building architectural features include a two-story lobby, glass elevator shaft, floor to ceiling glass windows, and exposed structural steel and skylights. An outside exterior plaza adds a lot to the beautification. All recycled materials were included in accordance with the LEED certification program.

“The architectural features make the building unique and different than other projects.” Said Wildman “What I really like is I know since it will be there for decades, it is great to be a part of something that will last.”
