Project Superintendent

This position reports to the General Superintendent. The Project Superintendent position is responsible for supervising all on-site construction in the location(s) assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely and communicate constantly with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Assistant PM’s, Clients, and A/E team.
- Manage Subcontractors, Trades, and all Field Personnel to meet deadlines and milestones of aggressively paced project schedules, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Track and receive material deliveries, resolving delivery discrepancies.
- Review construction drawings and shop drawings for job feasibility and compliance.
- Provide daily and weekly progress reports for each project.
- Document status of project with digital photographs daily.
- Prepare schedules and 3-week look-ahead schedules.
- Responsible for Q/A and punch list generation and supervision.
- Ensure adherence to strict safety standards ensuring Subcontractors are properly trained and knowledgeable with OSHA and safety related areas. May include working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintains an organized and clean job site.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Exhibiting leadership and commitment to a safe workplace and worksite.
- Maintain applicable construction or general industry trainings or certifications as required for themselves and their team.
- Ensure all sites implement and maintain safe work practices at all times.
- Ensure implementation of all Boyle Construction Inc. safety documentation.
- Review subcontractor qualifications and all safety submittals.
- Review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before starting work. Complete a Pre-Task Plan (PTP) where required.
- Conduct regular look ahead meetings, identifying safety precautions for the site and all scopes of work.
- Conduct site HSE observations and reporting safe and unsafe findings under observation in the appropriate software (currently Procore or HammerTech).
- Notify supervisor or Director of Safety immediately in the event of an incident, accident, near-miss, if an OSHA/EPA/Country official arrives on-site or when a unique hazard arises.
- Support all incident, accident and near-miss investigations and ensuring all required reports (to include corrective actions) are completed and distributed accordingly.
- Consult with Director of Safety during job-site observations and audits to review and evaluate any identified safety observations or recommendations.
- Undertake prompt corrective action(s) on any health, safety, and environmental recommendation(s).
Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities:
- 3 plus years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
- Must have a strong background and thorough knowledge of all trades involved in commercial construction.
- Ability to effectively use a computer and required software (Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam).
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws.
- Knowledge of permitting, review, and inspection process.
- Ability to forecast scheduling challenges and present possible solutions.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural and finish systems as well as building methodology.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects, work against deadlines and organize workflow with multiple interruptions.
- Effective and responsive verbal and written communication skills.
- OSHA 30 for Construction Certification (company will provide training)
Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in an environment which may include fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust, and ash.
- Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of 30-85 db.
- Ability to lift or push up to one hundred (100) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance.
- Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools safely.
- Ability to use electric tools safely.
- Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging and scaffolding and on uneven ground.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
