Boyle oversaw construction of a seven-level, over 900-car parking deck in the heart of downtown Allentown, to support the ongoing revitalization. A multi-story, mixed-use building is planned to wrap the parking deck and includes planned residential and retail development. The adjacent building is an opportunity for commercial, retail, residential or other uses to greatly improve the general appeal and sense of personal security for those using the parking deck. It is anticipated the first floor or street level will be retail/commercial destinations, with potentially residential or mixed-use on floors 2 through 7, wrapping the parking structure with residential units to complement adjacent residences. This mixed-use will add critical mass to this block and offer an extension of the main corridor’s development.
The Community Lot Parking Deck project came in under budget, due to Boyle’s value engineering initiatives. It was also completed seven weeks ahead of schedule, which helped provide parking during the holiday season in growing downtown Allentown. The garage contains elevators, two stair towers, lighting, signage, security, an Allentown Parking Authority small office, exterior landscaping, a pedestrian walkway and lighting.
