With the growing development on the south side of Bethlehem, parking was at a premium. The Boyle team and the Bethlehem Parking Authority worked diligently with designers and contractors to complete the new Polk Street Parking Deck on time for the opening of Musikfest. Many years in the planning stage, construction moved smoothly and allows for over 700 more parking spaces.
“We’re excited to open the Polk Street Garage and continue to contribute to the thriving economic development on the South Side, providing residents, businesses and visitors with another crucial parking solution to fuel progress and accessibility,” BPA Executive Director Steven Fernstrom said at the ribbon cutting on August 1st.
The Polk Street garage will also be home to the Southside Station bus stop for Lanta’s Enhanced Bus Service Green Line, which is a 14.1 mile line that connects the region to the south side Bethlehem.
