Raise the roof for high-tech care

Provided construction management of a fast-track operating room renovation for SLUHN. Developed by GE Healthcare, this hybrid operating room was the first of its kind in the United States. Over 4 months, construction took place on weekends and nights, allowing the facility to continue full operations in surrounding ORs. Careful measures were taken to ensure all surrounding facilities remained clean. The existing roof was removed and raised 10 feet to accommodate the GE hybrid operating room equipment. The operating room floor was precisely leveled, so the equipment, which is laser guided and extremely mobile, could properly operate. Boyle Construction was privileged to have been part of such a unique effort in improving local healthcare.
