Kids come first on southside
The SLUHN KidsCare Clinic is located on the second floor of the Northampton Community College’s Fowler Family Southside Center. The 6,300 SF Clinic includes a welcoming waiting area as well as 16 exam rooms and support areas. The space was designed with a raceway circulation pattern, with exam rooms along the perimeter and support areas focused in the center. A visual connection between the reception area and the nurse’s station allows for interaction by all staff members. Vibrant colors were integrated to make the children’s experience friendly and inviting. The entire project is within the Bethlehem Steel Brownfield property and allowed for re-purposing an abandoned office building from the defunct steel company.
