Project Description

The City of Allentown asked Boyle Construction to assist in managing the East Side Fire Station project to come in on the $1.9 million budget, after cost overruns jeopardized construction start. Boyle provided construction management services for the three-bay, 7,500 SF fire station.

After a few months of collaborating with designers and assisting in multiple budgets, the new bids came in on budget, enabling the project to move forward. The three-bay, two-story Fire Station has women’s quarters for the first time, as well as a better handling of water drainage during periods of high water tables. The new station houses three firefighters but can accommodate up to eight, as well as two paramedics.
