Project Description

Boyle provided general contractor services for the renovation of 10,000 SF of the existing Hartzell Technology Hall to update this Northampton Community College (NCC) Main Campus facility to train the future manufacturing workforce. NCC invested $1.8 million in improvements with nearly $1.1 million on facility renovations and $700,000 on new equipment. The tech center features equipment used in modern manufacturing and 12 labs, including labs for metallurgy; instrumentation; mechanical systems; motors, controls and photovoltaic energy; heating and refrigeration; electronics; wiring; and programmable logic controllers, computer-aided design and 3D printing.

The renovation features new finishes, equipment, lighting and furniture that better reflect NCC’s continually growing and advancing technology program. In addition to the manufacturing lab renovations, the Student Lobby and Gather Area were also updated.
