East Stroudsburg University’s Mattioli Recreation Center recently received a noteworthy interior refresh to better serve students. Originally opened in 2003, the 59,000-square-foot facility is a central hub for recreational and intramural sports, offering everything from basketball and pickleball to cardio, weight training, and fitness classes.
Some of the key upgrades included the installation of new athletic flooring in the arena, mezzanine track, and fitness areas. One court was outfitted with glass dasher boards and netting to support safe indoor soccer. Basketball backstops were refurbished, and new wall pads and divider curtains were added.
The track railing was replaced, and tinted film was applied to the upper windows to reduce glare. ESU branding and accent colors were incorporated throughout, including on the main staircase. Select corridors and stair landings received new carpet and luxury vinyl tile, and most interior walls were freshly painted. Lighting was upgraded to brighter, energy-efficient LEDs, and the A/V and IT systems were modernized.
The revitalized facility will continue to be a central location for students to connect, move, and recharge. We are honored to have helped create an environment where students can unwind and thrive. #builtbetter
